Aspen started out life as a pup we donated to Occupaws Blind Leader Dog program. She was fortunate that her puppy raiser had a Harvestime dog of her own and loved photography! Unfortunately, Aspen was more of a lover than a worker and was dismissed from Occupaws at 7 months. She then joined the Sankey family of Appleton and their two boys as part of our guardian dog program. Here is what the Sankey’s have to say:

“Aspen is the sweetest, spunkiest girl you ever did see! She loves to play with our two boys (ages 3 and almost 6) and she is an excellent snuggler! She has a few very clever ways of showing us when she needs a little more attention: by getting something she’s not supposed to have (such as a winter hat, mitten, or sock) and prancing past us with a smirk on her face, or if she thinks we are spending a little too much time looking at a screen, she will snuggle up close enough to knock it out of your hand or block your view, then give you the sweetest look so all you can do is give her some scratches! She is affectionate and gentle and loves a good belly rub. Aspen also loves treats, enjoys going on walks and playing outside (especially if there’s mud, water, or snow to play in!), and gets along well with any other dogs – big or small! She absolutely loves playing with toys, but chewy toys last much longer than squishy, squeaky, and fluffy ones. Aspen is just what our family needed to heal our broken hearts after the loss of our previous Harvestime Golden, Luna. She has filled our hearts and our home with so much love and laughter, and is the perfect addition to our active family!”
