Josie is a lovely girl out of two of our outstanding therapy dogs, Hope and Revere. Super smart, stable and great structure make up this dog! Josie has excellent pigment and is structurally solid. She weighs 58 pounds with moderate bone. Josie is part of our Lakewood kennel and she lives in Suamico with her foster family, the Watt family. Here is what they write:
“What can I say? Josie is a blessing that came into my life one year ago today. Josie was not planned. I was not looking… After all, I was still grieving over Jesse, my giant 14 year old golden boy. He left me suddenly and so unexpectedly to pneumonia. My heart was split in two.

Sometimes things happen for a reason. Sometimes people come into your life for a reason. Sometimes the four legged furry ones show up too. You don’t really don’t know why or what the future holds, but for some reason they come, they go, but they leave a mark. Sometimes that mark, is in the shape of a paw print .

I work at a homeless shelter. I met this amazing therapy dog that visits. Her name is Kabo (Harvestimes There’s Always Hope “Hope”) Hope. Kabo’s Mom, Deb and I became fast friends. Sharing stories about the love of our goldens. (Jesse was a therapy dog too) Kabo is such a beautiful girl, I always said, if and when I get another golden, I want a Kabo baby.

Later on, Deb introduced us to another amazing dog named Peak. Peak’s gentle and patient disposition mirrored my Jesse’s laid back personality. I fell in love with this guy!!! Our friends Barb & Glenn opened their hearts and home to Peak. They achieved his therapy status and now Peak visits my work every week. He is just an all around great dog. (After losing Jesse, I took great comfort from Peak’s weekly visits) I remember thinking, how cool would it be if there would be a Peak and Kabo baby?

Fast forward to November 2018. Barb (Peak’s foster) informed me there was a little golden girl looking to be fostered from Harvestime’s Lakewood Kennel. Could my dream really come true? The pup, a Kabo baby was also Peak’s granddaughter! My heart was ready to explode with excitement! Was it fate? I knew I had to meet her.

I contacted Tiffany right away. I explained my story and loss. Tiffany totally understood what I was feeling. I missed Jesse so much. I wanted to be ready, but was I ready to open my heart up again? Tiffany and I talked for a couple days. I decided, if I was lucky enough to be chosen, I really wanted this puppy in my life. I filled out the application and was approved. Finally, it was time to go pick her up. I took my daughter-in-law and granddaughter on this adventure with me.

It was LOVE LOVE LOVE at first sight. My broken heart felt whole again. I still miss Jesse, but Josie makes his passing a whole lot more bearable. Tiffany even gave Josie her AKC name after Jesse. She is Harvestimes I Found Jesse’s Girl!!! Harvestime is a kennel with so much heart. They love their puppies so much! They make sure they are healthy and in qualified, loving homes. Their breeding program and practices are top notch! I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Josie is so smart, funny, and loving. She has a wonderful silly personality with a little touch of sass. I can’t imagine her not being a part of our family. Josie is a star student in puppy classes and we will continue to therapy certification. She also recently go her rally title, CGC (Canine Good Citizen) and Trick Dog titles too. She just loves to learn, work, play ball, and snuggle!!!
