Pippa lives with the Garbe family in Menasha. Here’s what they write:
Pippa came to live with us in the Summer of 2023. She immediately settled right in and became fast friends with our other two dogs “Oz” (Newfoundland) and “Taylor” (Harvestime Golden). Pippa has the best personality. She is spunky, smart, inquisitive, outgoing and loves to cuddle. She is also very protective of her yard and excels at stalking squirrels and birds in slow motion. Not a day goes by that we are not laughing at something Pippa did. She loves to play in the sprinkler or puddles after it rains. She also loves to prance around when she finds a stick or branch that she can carry. Sadly we had to say goodbye to our old guy “Oz” this year. Both of the girls were a bit lost without their giant, brave brother but have adjusted well. Pippa and Taylor get along great. I have never seen either get snarky with each other. They are like two peas in a pod. Both have incredible temperaments. Neither of them really barks unless they are playing and even then it is only when one stops and the other wants to keep playing.
Pippa’s favorite way to end the day is to cuddle with my husband in his recliner or with me on the couch. She settles in great at bedtime curled up with Taylor. Stranger Danger is not a concept that Pippa understands. To her, everyone is her friend. Anytime someone stops over to visit, she immediately brings them a toy and plants herself next to them for pets and belly rubs. My husband and I have shared our lives with many different dog breeds over the years including German Shepherds, Newfoundlands, Labs, St. Bernards and Rescues. After getting to know Deb and her Golden Retrievers at the local dog club, I became interested in owning a Harvestime Dog. Becoming a Guardian Home for Deb was a perfect fit for us. Deb’s knowledge and commitment to maintaining the breed standard is remarkable. She is always available to answer questions. I swear she doesn’t sleep. There is something very special about these dogs. People recognize them and ask if they are from Harvestime frequently. My husband and I are so grateful that we get to share our home with Pippa and Taylor. We cannot even imagine life without a Golden Retriever now. We are truly blessed.
